Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Edition UK Hosting

The latest and greatest Windows Server 2012 is part of a very sought after line up from WebHostingBuzz. With the term of Cloud OS, this Datacenter Edition that we offer if very much in the tune of virtualisation – featuring many new additions and improvement, Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Edition is an excellent choice.

Unveiled after the newer Windows 8 desktop operating system, Windows Server 2012 features many of the same constructs as its desktop alternative. While the desktop has full use of the Metro UI, Windows Server uses a new and improved PowerShell.

PowerShell, as well as Server Manager, part of the Remote Server Administration Tools, sees a great deal of performance optimisations – notably security risks addressed in addition to the servers reliability.

Client Access Licences

The Datacenter Edition implements CALs (Client Access Licenses) that are specific server licenses for the Datacenter Edition and not the Standard Edition. These apply to Active Directory Rights Management and Remote Desktop Services that are not necessarily available in the Standard version
Licensing

The Datacenter Edition and Standard Edition only differ in a few areas. The first being the licensing: while both are licensed per x2 processors, the Standard Edition is only limited to two virtual instances where the Datacenter is unlimited.
Virtualisation

One of the greatest additions/improvements to this instalment of Windows Server is the update to virtualisation. Specifically Microsoft’s own Hyper-V and also the aforementioned PowerShell.
