Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition UK Hosting

Released in conjunction with Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition has gone on to be a popular choice for many – especially for those who upgraded from Windows Server 2003.

Similar in features and function as its desktop cousin, Windows Server 2008 is built around Windows NT6, therefore easily integrated with other Microsoft projects such as ASP, .NET framework and MS SQL among many others.

Server Core

With Server Core, only essential tools needed for optimum server functionality are installed and all actions are placed through the command line as Windows Shell is not included. The significance of this feature ensures a fast and reliable installation that doesn’t include any unnecessary code that could pose a security risk or create slowdown in the future.
DirectAccess

One of the new and improved features in Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition is DirectAccess. Windows Server 2008 can be used without the need of Windows 7 Enterprise and still manage mobile users through IPSec and IPv6.
Spanned Partitioning

Windows Server 2008 also makes great use of spanned partitioning, meaning that you no longer need to take down a server for certain tasks such as managing corrupt files or even quarantining them. This greatly reduced downtime for your users, thus reducing support enquiries.
