Our Infrastructure and Technology: what powers your website
Infrastructure
Intel powered Supermicro servers are used exclusively for our web servers. Providing the best-in-class levels of performance and reliability, each individual server is fitted with redundant RAID protected hard drives and enterprise class ECC DDR3 RAM.
A typical specification is:
- 8 x Xeon 5520 CPU
- 24GB DDR3 ECC RAM
- 4 x Western Digital RE3 RAID10 Hard Drives
- 2 x 1000Mbps Intel NIC
- CentOS 5.x Operating System
Our web servers are monitored on a 24x7x365 basis by software and humans. Within seconds of any potential issue occurring, we are notified and immediately begin taking steps to correct the issue.
As a result, our perfectionist approach to our hardware and software results in server uptime of at least 99.9% each month, and usually we achieve 100% every month.
Datacentre
Our datacentre, located in the heart of the London Docklands is our purpose built network operations centre where our web servers are housed. Our datacentre features:
- Fully meshed and redundant gigabit network powered by Cisco routers and switches
- Multiple Tier1 telecomms carriers to the US, Europe and Asia
- Fully redundant power system incorporating battery backup systems and generators
- Fully redundant climate control / air conditioning system with multiple CRACs
- 24x7 onsite technical and security staff
Offices & Support Centres
We maintain three offices around the world from which we run and manage our hosting businesses as well as supporting our customers. These are our own offices and manned by our own staff; we do not outsource support.
- 1 x office in North America
- 2 x offices in Europe
Our offices are also equipped with redundant network connections and power systems to keep our support centres online in the event of a power or network cut.
Our technical support and customer service team is available 24x7x365, including holidays.
